The Dental and Oral Hospital of Universitas Sumatera Utara (RSGM USU) held an inaugural briefing for students of the Specialist Dentist Profession Program (PPDGS) from the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) USU on Monday, February 17, 2025. This event was attended by PPDGS students from various fields, including Periodontics, Orthodontics, Prosthodontics, Conservative Dentistry, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
The event, held in the Nazir Alwi Room at FKG USU, began with opening remarks from the Vice Dean I of FKG USU, Dr. drg. Olivia Avriyanti Hanafiah, Sp.B.M.M., Subsp.C.O.M.(K), the Secretary of Conservative Dentistry, drg. Widi Prasetia, Sp.KG. Subsp. KE (K), and the Deputy Director of RSGM USU, drg. Ranu Putra Armidin, MKM. Following the speeches, a symbolic handover of PPDGS students to RSGM USU took place, marking the beginning of their education.
Following the opening remarks, several speakers, including the Head of the Medical Services Division, drg. Muhammad Kadafi Hasibuan, Sp.KG, and the Head of the Education Division, drg. Gebby Gabrina, provided material related to the service and education systems at RSGM USU. Students were also introduced to various related units, such as Registration, Emergency Department, Pharmacy, Medical Records, as well as the Infection Prevention and Control (PPI), Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (PMKP), and Occupational Health and Safety (K3) teams.
This briefing aimed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the education and service systems at RSGM USU, ensuring they are well-prepared to undergo their education and practice optimally.
