Leadership Transition at RSGM USU 2026–2031 Officially Begins, New Board Ready to Continue Service Development

The Dental and Oral Hospital of Universitas Sumatera Utara (RSGM USU) has officially begun a new leadership period for 2026–2031. The handover ceremony of the Board of Directors from the 2023–2026 period to the 2026–2031 leadership was held on March 13, 2026, at the RSGM USU Meeting Room, marking an important step in maintaining governance continuity and strengthening the development of dental and oral health services for the community.
The Dental and Oral Hospital of Universitas Sumatera Utara (RSGM USU) has officially begun a new leadership period for 2026–2031. The handover ceremony of the Board of Directors from the 2023–2026 period to the 2026–2031 leadership was held on March 13, 2026, at the RSGM USU Meeting Room, marking an important step in maintaining governance continuity and strengthening the development of dental and oral health services for the community.
The event was attended by the new Board of Directors of RSGM USU for the 2026–2031 period, consisting of Director drg. Rini Octavia Nasution, M.Kes., Sp.Perio., Subsp.RPID(K), Vice Director I drg. Putri Welda Utami Ritonga, M.DSc., Sp.Pros., Subsp. PMF(K), and Vice Director II Dr. drg. Teguh Aryo Nugroho, MDSc., Sp.Ort., Subsp.DDTK(K). The previous board was also present, including Director drg. Siti Salmiah, Sp.KGA., Subsp.KKA(K)., FICD and Vice Director Ranu Putra Armidin, MKM, along with all department heads within RSGM USU.
During the meeting, the 2023–2026 leadership presented a performance report highlighting various achievements accomplished throughout their tenure. These achievements serve as an important foundation for the hospital’s future development, particularly in improving the quality of dental and oral healthcare services, strengthening hospital management systems, and enhancing supporting facilities for clinical services and dental education.
The event also served as a strategic discussion forum to outline future development plans for RSGM USU as a leading dental and oral hospital and teaching hospital in North Sumatra. Several strategic initiatives were discussed, including the proposal to increase human resources to support extended operating hours for both general and specialist dental services, improvements to healthcare facilities and infrastructure, and preparations for the hospital’s re-accreditation process to maintain high standards of healthcare quality.
Service development efforts will also focus on expanding public access to high-quality, affordable dental and oral healthcare services supported by modern technology and updated medical standards.
As part of the initial agenda of the new leadership, the 2026–2031 Board of Directors conducted a facility review across the RSGM USU hospital complex. This inspection aimed to directly assess the current condition of hospital infrastructure and identify areas for improvement to further enhance service quality for patients.
With the start of this new leadership period, RSGM USU is expected to continue strengthening its role as a center for dental and oral healthcare services, dental education, and research, contributing significantly to the advancement of public health in Indonesia.
