The Dental and Oral Hospital of Universitas Sumatera Utara (RSGM USU) served as the main venue for the implementation of National Dental Health Month (BKGN) 2025, held from 25 to 27 November 2025. The opening ceremony took place at the Lobby of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU), and was attended by the Vice Rector IV of USU, Prof. Dr. Drs. Opim Salim Sitompul, M.Sc., the Dean of FKG USU, Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Subsp. PKOA (K), the Director of RSGM USU, drg. Siti Salmiah, Sp.KGA., Subsp. KKA (K), representatives of Unilever led by Jun Holland Simamora, the Head of the Medan Branch of the Indonesian Dental Association (PDGI), drg. Ranu Putra Armidin, M.K.M., as well as the Chair of the BKGN 2025 Organizing Committee, Dr. drg. Teguh Aryo Nugroho, M.D.Sc., Sp.Ort., Subsp. DDTK (K).
The event commenced with opening remarks delivered by representatives of the university leadership, the faculty, RSGM USU, PDGI, the organizing committee, and Unilever, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially mark the opening of BKGN 2025 at USU.
As part of BKGN 2025, free dental health services were provided at RSGM USU through a comprehensive service flow, including registration, initial screening, and clinical treatments such as dental scaling, fillings, and tooth extractions based on medical indications. This initiative represents a collaborative effort between the Faculty of Dentistry USU and RSGM USU in partnership with Pepsodent Unilever to improve the level of dental and oral health among the people of North Sumatra.
Through the National Dental Health Month program, RSGM USU reaffirms its commitment to delivering accessible and high-quality dental care services for residents of Medan and surrounding areas.
