RSGM USU and the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU), visited RSUD Dr. Pirngadi Medan for a dialogue session on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. The meeting was attended by RSUD Dr. Pirngadi Director Dr. Suhartono, Sp.PD., Subsp.HOM (K), FINASIM; Deputy Director Drg. Afifudin, Sp.BM; Specialist Dental Medical Staff; Dean of FKG USU Dr. Drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA., Subsp.PKOA(K) and her team; RSGM USU Director Drg. Siti Salmiah, Sp.KGA., Subsp.KKA(K); Deputy Director Drg. Ranu Putra Armidin, MKM, heads and teaching staff from the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at FKG USU.
The meeting's purpose was to discuss hospital clinical rotations for residents in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program and design activities aligning the education program with hospital needs and standards. All parties agreed to develop joint programs that fulfil academic requirements while improving the quality of healthcare service.
Additionally, the meeting strengthened collaboration between RSGM USU, FKG USU, and RSUD Dr. Pirngadi, particularly in supporting dental education and residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. This closer partnership is expected to positively impact the development of dental specialist education in North Sumatra and enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to the community
