RSGM USU, FKG USU, and Oral Surgery Residency Program Establish Tridharma Collaboration with Dr. Pirngadi Regional Hospital Medan

RSGM USU, together with FKG USU and the Oral Surgery Residency Program (PPDGS), held an audience with Dr. Pirngadi Regional General Hospital Medan to discuss a Tridharma-based collaboration, including the implementation of a basic medical rotation to enhance dental education and healthcare services in Medan City.

The Dental and Oral Hospital of Universitas Sumatera Utara (RSGM USU), together with the Faculty of Dentistry of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU) and the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program (PPDGS), held a strategic meeting with Dr. Pirngadi Regional General Hospital (RSUD Dr. Pirngadi) Medan on Thursday, August 14, 2025. The meeting aimed to establish and strengthen a Tridharma-based collaboration, focusing on education, research, and community service.

 

The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss the implementation of the basic medical rotation at RSUD Dr. Pirngadi for residents of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialty Program of FKG USU. This rotation plan covers several relevant medical disciplines, including Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, ENT, Radiology, Anesthesiology, Basic Pre-Surgery, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The program is expected to provide students with comprehensive field practice experience, enhance their clinical skills, and broaden their interdisciplinary knowledge.

 

Representing RSGM USU were Deputy Director drg. Ranu Putra Armidin, MKM, Head of Education, Research, and Community Service Division drg. Gebby Gabrina, Head of Operations and Marketing Division drg. Emalia Rosalina, Head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program drg. Isnandar, Sp.B.M.M., Subsp.T.M.T.M.J(K), Secretary of the Program drg. Gostry Aldica Dohude, Sp.B.M.M., Subsp.T.M.T.M.J(K), and Head of Research, Community Service, and Cooperation Subdivision of FKG USU Prio Utomo, SE.

 

From RSUD Dr. Pirngadi Medan, attendees included Acting Director drg. Afifuddin, Sp.BM, Head of the Medical Education Coordination Committee (Komkordik), and several Heads of Medical Functional Staff (SMF) from various departments within the hospital.

 

This collaboration marks a strategic step toward strengthening specialist dental education, improving the quality of dental and oral health services in Medan, and fostering inter-institutional cooperation that delivers tangible benefits to society. The synergy between RSGM USU, FKG USU, the Oral Surgery Residency Program, and RSUD Dr. Pirngadi reflects a shared commitment to developing competent specialists while expanding access to high-quality dental and oral healthcare services across North Sumatra.
