The Occupational Health and Safety (K3RS) Team of Universitas Sumatera Utara Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM USU) organized a socialization and simulation session on the use of fire extinguishers (APAR) for cleaning service and security staff on September 18, 2024. This activity aimed to enhance their understanding and skills in handling fires in the workplace.
During the socialization session, the team explained various types of fires, their causes, and the importance of early handling to prevent fires from escalating. After the theoretical explanation, participants were given hands-on practice using fire extinguishers during the simulation.
This interactive session allowed participants to actively train in practical fire suppression techniques. The training is expected to prepare better and equip staff to respond promptly and effectively in emergencies, protecting themselves and their colleagues in the event of a fire. The success of this program also aims to create a safer and more responsive work environment.
