The Dental and Oral Hospital of Universitas Sumatera Utara (RSGM USU) successfully underwent an accreditation process conducted by the Indonesian Health Facility Accreditation Institute (LAFKI) over three days in a hybrid format. The process began with a virtual meeting on Saturday, April 8, 2023, and continued with in-person assessments on Monday, April 10, 2023, and Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at RSGM USU.
LAFKI conducted a supervisory visit to evaluate the quality of healthcare services at RSGM USU. The accreditation opening ceremony was led by RSGM USU Director Drg. Rahmi Syaflida Dalimunthe, Sp.BM(K) was attended by Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH., MA, Vice Rector I of Universitas Sumatera Utara, representing the Rector. The LAFKI surveyors included Dr. Ratna Indrawati, Dk.M.Kes., CIQnR., FIHFAA and Drg. Rahaju Soelistyawati, M.Kes. Other attendees included the RSGM USU Supervisory Board, represented by Dr. Drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Drg. Saidina Hamzah Dalimunthe, Sp.Perio(K), Drg. Meriah Ukur Sembiring, and Drg. Ranu Putra Armidin, M.KM; the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry USU; and several distinguished guests, including Dr. Ivana Alona, MPH, Director of Training, Research, and Collaboration at RS USU.
On Saturday, April 8, 2023, a virtual document review session was conducted via the SIAR-LAFKI system. The in-person visit began on Monday, April 10, 2023, at RSGM USU, with activities including interviews with the hospital leadership, the Supervisory Board, and committees and on-site inspections. On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, simulations of Code Red and Code Blue emergencies were conducted, followed by a document review related to accreditation standards. The process concluded with an exit briefing from the surveyor team.
As a result of these activities, on April 14, 2023, the Indonesian Ministry of Health and LAFKI awarded RSGM USU a Paripurna Accreditation Certificate, signifying the highest level of achievement.
