Internal Archival Development and Supervision program of RSGM, Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital, the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), and the USU Research Institute
Medan, June 18, 2025 — To strengthen organized, professional, and sustainable archive management, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Archive Office continued its third-week Internal Archival Development and Supervision program on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. The event was held at the USU Archive Office with participants from RSGM, Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital, the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), and the USU Research Institute.
Focus on Digital Archive Management and Administrative Order
This initiative is part of the USU Archive Office’s strategic program to support digital transformation, preserve collective memory, and ensure accountable archival systems within the university. Using the standardized Internal Archival Supervision Instrument, the program evaluates archive management effectiveness, policy compliance, and readiness for digitalization.
Program Scope Includes:
Evaluation of archive management systems.
Dissemination of archival policies and procedures per ANRI and USU standards.
Identification of challenges and recommendations.
Technical guidance for improving physical and electronic archive governance.
Shared Commitment for Better Governance
The Head of USU Archive Office emphasized that this effort is not merely administrative compliance but also a shared responsibility to uphold accountability, integrity, and the institution’s intellectual heritage.
The program is expected to improve documentation services, strengthen internal archive management, and support USU’s vision of becoming a leading university in information technology utilization and digital archival governance.
